IMPORTANT UPDATES

October 15, 2008

MSA Discontinued Products
MSA has announced their intent to discontinue replacement parts and complete assemblies for the Belt- Mounted Regulator (BMR) and Quarter-Turn MMR Regulator as well as the 1997 Edition (non-NFPA) Air Mask. Following is a reminder of the details associated with the discontinuation of these products.

BELT-MOUNTED REGULATOR
Production of the BMR was discontinued in 2003 and replacement parts were available until 2009. As of December 31, 2008, no replacement parts will be available and CARE training will be discontinued January 1, 2009.

QUARTER-TURN MMR REGULATOR
In 2007 the production of Quarter-Turn MMR was discontinued while continuing to support replacement part until 2010. Replacement parts may be ordered for the Quarter-Turn MMR until December 31, 2009. A limited quantity of parts will be available until this time. Once stock is depleted, no additional parts will be manufactured.

1997 EDITION (NON-NFPA) AIR MASK
With the introduction of the AirHawk II, the 1997 edition Air Mask will be retired December 31, 2008. This air mask was represented by ATOs A-NL and A-NH which provided industrial customers with an alternative to the NFPA certified version. The AirHawk II provides all the options and accessories the 1997 Edition Air Mask provided and more. Replacement component parts will still be available for those components that are common to current air masks or have been deemed as approved substitutes, such as the PR-14 and FireHawk regulators, Audi-Larm Audible Alarm, cylinders, Ultra-Elite facepiece, and certain carrier components.

Thank you for your continued support of MSA and our products. If you have any further questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact Conrad Fire Equipment Inc, at 1-800-779-5521 or MSA’s award–winning Customer Service Center at 1-877-MSA-FIRE
